Weather, festivals and rates — when to plan your Udaipur escape for the experience you want.
Udaipur rewards visitors all year round, but the experience changes dramatically with the seasons. Whether you are planning a romantic getaway, a family holiday or a wedding, here is how to choose the right window for the trip you want.
October to March — peak season
This is Udaipur at its postcard best: pleasant days, cool evenings and crystal-clear lake views, ideal for sightseeing, outdoor dinners and destination weddings. It is also the busiest window, so book your rooms and suites early. Pair clear-sky mornings at the nearby attractions with long, lazy lunches on our dining decks.
July to September — the monsoon
The monsoon transforms the Aravallis into lush green, with dramatic skies mirrored across the lakes — a favourite for photographers and anyone chasing a moody, romantic mood. Rates are gentler too, making it a smart time for a weekend escape. A rainy afternoon is the perfect excuse for an unhurried spa session.
April to June — summer calm
Summer is warm but wonderfully quiet. With fewer crowds and the best value of the year, it suits wellness-focused stays, poolside leisure and slow mornings. Cool off in the pool, retreat to an air-conditioned premium room, and enjoy the resort at an unhurried pace.
Festivals worth planning around
Udaipur's calendar sparkles with festivals — the Mewar Festival in spring, Holi, Diwali and the World Music Festival among them. These are magical but popular, so reserve well ahead. See our current offers for seasonal value, or contact us and we will help you time your visit.
Whenever you come, the City of Lakes delivers. Browse the gallery for a taste of each season, then book your stay.
